The Dawn of Soul
The English translation of the author’s eighth poetry collection, Osvit duše, originally published in Serbian. It is the first of her collections to be translated into English.
There are seventy-three poems that explore love, reflection, patriotism, spirituality, and the enduring beauty of the human spirit.
Set against the landscapes of the Vojvodina plains, the Alps, the Rhône, and the Danube, these poems celebrate homeland, family, faith, and hope while inviting readers on an intimate journey of self-discovery. Rooted in Serbian cultural heritage yet universal in their themes, the collection speaks of longing, compassion, memory, and the search for inner light. This book is both a personal tribute and an invitation to readers everywhere to discover the timeless power of poetry to inspire, comfort, and connect.
The publication of this English edition reflects the generosity, encouragement, and support of those who accompanied the author’s journey into the English-speaking world.
THE SONET OF MAY’S SIGH
Take me away on the path with no end
where longing smells sweetly
in the ordinary day of flowery May
without a promise
of colorfulness and shine,
without the kisses of rain,
and pressing of hand,
just let our never-ending story wind
between our two looks,
it conquers without a sound,
connects or separates,
just let the soul breathe to soul
and write a sonnet into the heart.
The Dawn of Soul
I invite you to journey with me through poems born of love, reflection, and the quiet search for meaning. Each poem is an offering from the heart, written to inspire, comfort, and encourage moments of stillness. If these words touch your heart, I would be deeply honored if this collection found its place in your library.
